Blah, blah, blah

What a difference

Palm tree lined road. No potholes. Warm day with the sun on us. Driving a nice convertible. Wearing nice clothes and a nice watch. Feeling good. All of our hard work has paid off. All of the years of working 7 days a week from sunup to sundown. All of the years of putting the customer first. All of the years of answering the phone on Saturday night, while in the middle of some family party. All of the years spent in class, learning more, in the office, making cold calls. All of the years spent learning about investing and then actually scrimping by in order to make some investments. All of the years trying to work harder and smarter than the next person. It is all paying off now.

Dirt road.  Loads of potholes and bumps. Cloudy day with a chilling breeze. Driving an older model car that needs work. Clothes that could stand to be replaced. Not feeling so good. The exact same scenario as above as far as the hard work and late hours. Only one thing has changed: A socialist President and socialist Congress have been in power for a few years. They take from the hard workers and give to the non-workers.

Vote Republican every chance you get.

Very good Kevin - except that i think a lot of hard working Americans might well turn round and say to the Government - I'm not going to do that anymore - give me some money!

I know that you have seen it first hand in England. I have seen it a bit in my travels but do not thoroughly understnad why someone would want to live that way.

The picture you paint with the palm trees, et al, unfortuntely does not describe the status of the majority of Americans.  They do the hard work but are left out of the rewards.  Don't get me wrong, they do well enough to "get along" but not to prosper.  Kind of what the Cheney philosophy had in mind.

As a marine, take some time to see an excellent anaylsis of the last eight years by another warrior, Andrew Bacevich.  Rarely do I find someone who has the analytic mind and the gift of expression that he has.

Kevin ~ Another great post and something we all should think about.

And Bill ~  Nobody can say anything good about this country without you saying something so stupid.

Kevin - Creative post.  I sent it to my friend Barack, he thought the first paragraph was describing a Federal Government employee.
