Democrats in Congress

They are driven around in cars, which they do not own, by people who they do not pay for. Their gas is paid for by others. They sit in offices that they do not pay for. They have office helpers whom they do not pay for. They get paid to do a job, but if they do not go to work, they still get paid. If they want a higher salary, they give themselves one. They are a caricature of Marie Antoinette, described by her infamous line "Let them eat cake".

They are out of touch with ordinary people. They are against drilling for oil in our own country. They just put lots more into the pockets of some countries that do not like our country. They just insured that the price of gas will stay high. They just insured that the "big oil" companies whom they claim to dislike, will be able to keep prices high, and thus make more of what they claim is evil They just insured that the cost of living, for the people who pay for them, will continue to rise. They just put America last, like they always do.

Whose side are they on anyways?

Sure you didn't mean Republicans?  Alright, you're right...the Republican's do tend to favor drilling for oil in one of the last pristine environments on earth...even though the amount of oil that would be produced there is just a drop in the bucket compared to what we use.

It amazes me that after the last 8 years that anybody would still be a staunch Republican, but I guess that some people just don't pay attention!

Kevin,

Before The Dems took control of congress...gas was cheap.  And unemployment low.  After 8 years I am still with you. So now there are at least 2 of us!

The dems like to blame Bush and the Republicans for the war, but you can,t find more than a handful of Dems(none of their leaders) who were against it at the time it was being voted on. Now look at the damage the Dems have done in little more than a year, It is beyond comprehension that there is even one democratic voter left

I can think of one Democratic leader who was against the war....Mr. Obama!  That said, there were others but not enough to be sure.  Members of both parties did the political math and concluded that a war was what the public wanted...that didn't make it right, but it did make it the politically astute thing to do at the time.

As far as damage that the Democrats have done since they took over Congress....I don't see any unless you count not being able to over-come a veto threat by the President because they don't have a big enough majority.

Bush has driven our economy into the ground.  Last August I wrote a post called, "George W Sure Knows How To Throw A Party" that goes into how he's mismanaged the economy.  I challenge any conservative to read that post and argue my point!

As a matter of fact, if I was a true conservative, I'd be pissed at him!  Check it out....he's played you guys while spending money like nobody else EVER!

Hugh - Barack Obama was against the war from the outset.

Bob - My problem with the Dem controlled Congress is that they're not bold enough to impeach Dubya and to stop funding the war in Iraq.  If they could have done one....just one thing....I would have liked to see them say "No funding available for Iraq".  Then go on vacation for 3 months.  That alone would have made me happy.  But they couldn't even do that.  My respect for Pelosi has diminished over the months.

Tchaka:  they tried, but didn't have the votes!  Also, it's very difficult to cut the funding without appearing to be abandoning the troops, which the Republicans would have a field day with.

Let a Democrat get elected President with a Democratically controlled Congress and we'll see things change!

Bob - I remember Dubya blaming the Dems for abandoning the troops and it was enough to scare the Pelosi Crew.  I would have retorted "No money left, bring them home" and left it at that.  I would have forced Dubya's hand and maintained a collision course.  I figured they were waiting for the 2008 elections which might be a safer route in terms of self-preservation, but I want my leaders to focus on the issues needed, not on keeping their jobs intact.

The Republicans are like a criminal who rapes a woman. The Democrats are like somebody who watches the rape and does nothing to help.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYUM!!!!  I think this debate is over.  Curtains please!

The debate is not over. The democrats currently control congress and we have an economic mess. Let a democrat  get elected president and  we will have a disaster on our hands.

Yeah. The trillions of dollars this war is costing has nothing to do with it. I have bad news for you Mike, nothing the Democratic congress could ever do would be as damaging as this war.

"debate is over" was figurative...based on Israel's post.  Sheesh!
