Blah, blah, blah

What are you doing this Memorial Day?

I was just thinking about all of the things that need to get done before my family and I get to relax a bit this weekend.  We are doing the typical American Memorial Day thing, I think. We are going boating with some friends, doing a big BBQ picnic, and then having a big party at our home that night. During the weekend, our family goes to the cemetary with the Boy Scouts to place flags on soldiers graves. Pretty basic stuff I guess.

How about you? What are you and your family doing this Memorial Day?

Kevin, I'm flying to Nebraska to participate in the Memorial Day services in my dad's hometown.  Something I do every year to honor our veterans.

I was actually hoping to get work done and plan more marketing.  I didn't realize it was here already.

Work, work, work!!!   Time to cook the donuts!   On second thought, time to crank up the old Weber and do some steaks on the back "40!   Jerry

What happened to taking time to honor the veterans?  Just flying a flag on Monday does not really consitute taking time to pay your respects.

Our town has the usual big parade with all kinds of groups and school marching bands etc. We also have something called the "ski to sea" race. It starts out w/people sking down Mt. Baker, then handing off to some down hill mountain bikers, then to some cross country runners, then kayakers that finish the race in Bellingham Bay. People come from all around the world to participate. I however won't be doing any of it.........except hanging out in the huge live music/bbq/beer garden section at the end of the race! LOL

We have a morning and evening program to honor our area veterans at our church. I cry every year as they call them to come to the front and the younger  & more able push and help the older or injured up to the front. Even tho they aren't supposed to - they make the climb up onto the stage.
