This Is What Kids Learn In School

This year our kids are attending public school for the first time ever. They wanted to try it for the sports teams and because some of their lifelong friends are there. They are both ready to go back to their private school next year. The things I listed below are all things they have been told by their teachers.  The list is actually much longer and funnier. Someday I will make a list.

They are learning that if you do not recycle a can, then you are a bad person.

They are learning that we stole CA and TX from the Mexicans.

They are learning that we are all going to die from global warming.

They are learning that it is OK for kids to cut school in order to protest a new law that might cut teachers tenure.

That is a very interesting list.  Every parent has to realize that the public school system is the government's primary indoctrination mechanism. It is the institution wherein new citizens are exposed to the way they are expected to think and act in society.

Interesting thoughts and I don't really know how to respond other than to say there is good and bad everywhere, or just different.

I had that same experience when my sons after a lot of pleading,  left their small private school to go to public school.  They were begging to go back within 3 days after someone tried to steal their lunch money and  the kids came to school in t-shirts and long hair.  They were happy to get back into their coat and tie and some real learning.

It is now wonder our kids are not that well educated when they graduate. They learn nonsense instead of the 3-R's.

When we were stationed in Okinawa, we were stunned to find out that the kids go to school seven days a week.  Everyday!

Kids cannot read or write or do math without a calculator but they learn in sex education how to put a condom on.

So glad my tax dollars are once again being wasted! I have no issue paying to educate the children, if they are actually getting an education....., however that is not happening....

I remember when I was in school.  We were taught that the russians were coming & to be ready.
