Blah, blah, blah

More Nonsense

In a move to control its citizens, the EU announced a plan to ban all gas and diesel fueled cars by 2050. Once again, the control freaks are out of their league. Our own freedom loving President is supposed to announce very soon, his own version of energy independence.

Some of his minions have leaked that he wants to cut our oil imports by up to one third over the next 10 years. He is going to talk about energy security for the US.

I wonder if energy security is analogous to job security? Maybe we should ask the 20,000 unemployed oil workers in the gulf?

The new gas and diesel autos coming out will soon make the all electric car a moot point. Engine power and efficiency has greatly improved over the past 20 years. A 2010 Camry going 75 miles an hour on I-95 at 2200 RPM and packed for vacation gets 35mpg (I have first hand knowledge). A 2011 Huyandai Sonata, 38 highway (not EPA, actual driving) between D.C. and N.Y. (congested roadway). These four cyclinder cars are peppy, move, and are not working hard. Very well engineered, Ford and Chevy also have cars like this. A little more technology and we could cut our oil imports 30%. Don't throw out something that works, just improve on it.

Kevin - and don't forget that they want to cut out airline flights and make rail the primary and almost sole form of intercity/country/region transportation. Maybe they will take a page out of the SS book and require travel documents also.

Travel documents will probably not be very far in the future at the rate we are going.

Good one, Dale. I am investing in bikes, and buy a tricyle for when I'm showing properties to clients.

We will all be riding bikes and trikes pretty soon. Our leader is really helping us out.
