Cat, You Are Welcome Here

Dear Cat,

Too bad the state that you have called home for so many years has decided to tax the living crap out of everyone and everything. You may want to take a look around to see where in this great country of ours you could relocate.

I know that Texas, Virginia, south Dakota, and Nebraska are all courting you, and I would like to throw another hat into that ring:  Idaho. I do not know how our tax rates compare with those other states, but I do know that we are a right to work state, which means that you do not have to let the UAW tell you how it is going to be anymore. Listening to them leads to big trouble, just look at the Big-3.

Anyways, while you are looking around, please give us a looksie. Here in Idaho, we have a very willing workforce. Have you ever heard the Red Wing Boots commercial? That is us. We are also rated the most honest state in the union and one of the top 10 states for happiness and well being. In other words this is a great place to live and do business. Don't forget we are also a big Ag state. Something that you might like.

Wallace- Nice pic. I like Cat. I have been buying their stock for 10 plus years. Great company.

Our loss is anybody's gain.  Now Quinn will have to tax us some more to make up for this loss.  Of course, cutting back won't be in his mind.

Yoli- We are trying to steal your company. I just contacted the Idaho Biz Development Director's office and emailed the Twin Falls Biz Dev. rep. Lets get this thing rolling.

Kevin...Being voted the most honest state cold be in jepardy if you are courting everyone to save on taxes.  It has been said taht this is the first place people will try to cheat.

Just a thought.

Kevin, I can see that you're happy with the way things are in Idaho. They should pursue this aggressively. If we're going to lose Caterpillar anyway, I hope your state gets it.

Yoli- Just got a call and an email. Neither had heard about this. In hot pursuit now.

Randi- Could be. We were voted the most honest state by some group that did a study a few years back. You know how trustworthy studies can be.

But, I will tell you that I have lived and done business in a few states, and the people here are pretty down to earth and honest. Idaho is not the state that the media likes to make us out to be. I do not even know any skinheads or potato farmers.

Our governor just said he was releasing more money to get a mega site close by ready for someone just like Cat.
