The Cracks

It seems like everyday we are told by some politician or another that we must take care of those who have fallen between the cracks.

What are the cracks? What does it mean to have fallen between the cracks?

If my worker shows up late everyday and never does what he is told, and I fire him, has he fallen between the cracks?

If I like to get drunk all day instead of working at a job, have I fallen between the cracks?

If my business is failing, and I do not want to go get a second job, have I fallen between the cracks?

If my sister keeps on popping out kids with different men, has she fallen between the cracks?

If I will not work a second job in order to buy health insurance, have I fallen between the cracks?

If I cannot work because I will not work at McDonalds, have I fallen between the cracks?

If everyone hates me because.....

If life is not fair.......

If work is demeaning...

If my mom told me I deserved it.....

I understand your frustrations.  I often feel that way myself.  But at the same time, I sure did enjoy selling all those houses when the government and the banks were allowing scores under 620.

I like it!! Great post. I have always wondered what the guidelines were for "between the cracks".

It seems to me that the crack keeps getting bigger. At some point everyone will qualify as having fallen between the cracks. The cracks are getting bigger in order to get politicians elected.

Soon the cracks will be so big that everybody wins, and that's socialism

Dale- I guess that is my point. The cracks will be so big that we all qualify for govt help.
