Freeloaders

Right now, in states all across this great country, and at the national level, responsible leaders are looking for ways to cut spending. Every facet of budgets is being examined with the hope that some magic discretionary spending line will just pop out. It won't.

Like typical politicians, the possible cuts being examined are a good start, but do nothing when it comes to the big problem. Here in Idaho and in other states that have a huge ag presence, the real problem is obvious. Our tax dollars pay for education, medical care, and jail housing for illegal Mexicans.

They are illegal. We can all fight over how great it is that they come here to improve their families life, and they are great people, and they would starve back home, and on and on. They came here illegally.

Just that fact means they are under the radar. Uncle IRS does not call them asking for back taxes or an audit. The illegals have no clue what FICA means. Probably some soccer team or something.

Just go to your emergency room tonight. Half of the folks there will speak no English. Look in the crime section of your paper. Names that come directly from Mexico.

We pay, they play.

It is time for some leader to address this issue. They are here illegally no matter how touchy feely we want to get with them.

Cut all money for illegals. No free medical. No free school for their kids. No free anything except a frickin bus ride back home.

But Kevin, IF they were provided with a reasonable means of obtaining citizenship... the folks who are already here... they WOULD pay taxes, and FICA would be something they would face... along with everyone else.  Also... if they were not in Idaho... who would harvest your "ag ?"  It has been shown time and time again... that the jobs that these "illegals" do... the great majority of "legals" would never do.

Let's focus on cutting back military spending foreign aide and raise the retirement age for social security. Illegals aren't going anywhere. We need to figure out a transition program that gives them a fair chance to contribute and the country a chance to profit. We are a country of immigrants it's not my country or your country it's everyone's country that's the reality. I don't like seeing jobs shipped oversees or given to illegals, but that's not their fault. They wanted something better for themselves and their families. If we stop that we stop what's great about this country.

Posted by John Saari, "The Mortgage Buddy" about 8 years ago

I could not agree more. I have no problem with them ,their culture, ect. I personally LOVE the Hispanics and Mexico. What I have a problem with is we have to obey the laws of this great country and yet they start off their free ride illegally. Those that came here legally, my hats off to them. I hope they find and live the American dream. You would think the  legal alien Hispanic community would have a louder voice in opposing those here illegally as they worked hard and did it right.

John, instead of raising the retirement age, or perhaps in addition to it, let's raise the ceiling on the income subject to Social Security withholding.  If folks who have annual incomes in the $250,000 range after retirement can draw from Social Security... then it only makes sense that the Soc Sec income ceiling be raised to $250K as well.

We need to defend our borders. If I understand it correctly we are actually giving up terriorty as many ranchers who have had land along Mexico have been moving north away from the violence they are facing. Anyway, we have so many laws that are not  enforced, and it is causing much caos, and budgetary problems. We simply cannot keep tolerating the illegal entry into our land. If they want to come here then it should be done legally and they must be accounted for, pay taxes, and learn english. You are absolutly correct about not allowing them "free health care" and education on the backs of taxpayers.

Immigrants are always welcome if they come here LEGALLY!

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer about 8 years ago

So what you are saying, Paul, is that we are "giving up land" to some of the people we "stole it from" in the first place.  How rude of us.

They didn't "cross the border..." the "border" crossed them.

Posted by Karen Anne Stone, Fort Worth Real Estate (New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County) about 8 years ago

Kevin - while I despise Michael Savage, he does have a point about his mantra- border, language, culture. And while I am often at odds with Karen, we do need to revise our immigration strategy, to make legal entry into this nation less of a hassle and more rewarding than illegal, although I disagree that we should expedit citizenship for those hear illegally.

Posted by Mike Saunders (Lanier Partners) about 8 years ago

Mike:  Let's make a note of this.  You and I agree on Michael Savage.  And... I think that your choice of the word "despise" is a very good one.  He sure is impressed with himself.

quit giving away money to the people who should not be here.  There is a reason that we have quota's or had at one time for immigrants.  It was so we could control what was going on in the country financially and make sure that the citizens already here would not be harmed by a huge influx of people willing to work for less than they were already getting paid.

If we didn't give free medical to the illegals...we would have a lot less problems with our borders.

Giving everyone here already illegally citizenship only rewards the illegal behavior.  It was done before and didn't really solve anything.   Also, there are work visa's.  Yes it does take some time, but if we didn't have to deal with the influx of illegals, that money could go for better processing.

The problem is simple to see....if you want to see it.  For the illegal population to exist in this country the way some want them to, the rest of the country will see a lower quality of life.  It really is that simple.  Millions come from another country, one that doesn't have the same type of government, one that doesn't provide anything and one that keeps them poor.  No effort is made by the same illegals to bring up their country.  Some on this post want them to come in and get the benefits that others pay for.  But others earned those benefits.  Why should they give them up?

And if anyone thinks the problem will be solved politically, you are nuts.  Math says that the government is willing to kick the can further down the road.  For example, in the next few years, 75 million taxpayers are going to want to start getting checks from the government.  Yet, we will not have replaced those workers.  So, the government, regardless of who is in power, will let millions  over the border, will talk about enforcement, but do nothing.  The current GOP budget has a 600 million dollar cut in border security.

So start learning Spanish folks.  Or start talking secession.

Posted by Dale Terry about 8 years ago

Ummm, most illegals are paying taxes.  As a matter of fact, it's estimated that illegals have paid approximately $10 billion into social security, an entitlement they will never see.

If you really want to stop illegals from entering the country, fine the business's that hire them - a fine of 25K per should do it, that way we don't have to spend billions erecting a fence.  But, expect your food prices to skyrocket as producers will have a hard time finding pickers, etc.

Posted by Karl Hess, on The Jersey Shore (Keller Williams Shore Properties) about 8 years ago

Karl - Umm,nice try but I do not think food prices will rise just because the Mexicans do not work in that industry. That is a myth perpetrated by the leftists. I am in construction and that myth has been told as well. The Construction industry used to be a great industry but has been ruined by illegal Mexicans working in it. The homes are shoddier and the wages are low.The "to build" prices per sq ft did not go down when Mexicans started in the trade. You can do the research.

I live in an ag area. Many high school kids picked back in the days before illegal Mexicans were in country on a mass scale. With unemployement high and lots of high school kids wanting to work, along with lots of guys wanting a second job, the food will get picked. In addition, here in our area, the pickers get a better wage than the folks in retail or fast food.

Illegals are ruining our country in more ways than they are helping it.

Karen I thought you were once a teacher. Mexico held part of CA for a very short time. Before that Spain owned it for a much longer time. All of that time, plus before, the CA Indians owned it and lived upon it. So who do you want to give it to? Should we also allow anyone from Spain to come into our country? As far as Mexico owning part of CA once, should we allow Mexicans into that part of CA or all of our country? Do Mexicans get an automatic pass into the Us since they owned part of CA for like 12 years?Or should we make the Mexicans pay the CA Indians for the land since the Indians used to own it.

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer about 8 years ago

Kevin:  You can trace the chain of ownership as far back as you wish.  Regardless... before "we" came in and took the land by force, someone else lived here.  And now... we act as if it was ours since the world was created billions of years ago.

As far as Spain... they stole whatever land they "owned" as well.  I believe either the Incas or the Mayans, or other indigenous peoples, were there centuries and centuries before the "Spanish" invaded.

As far as the "Indians"... if they were the original indigenous people... who some say were part of the Inuit at one time... then maybe it is theirs. The indians surely were here before we were.

I think it is a national embarrassment, and totally criminal, what "Americans" did to ALL of the indian tribes after Columbus "discovered" (what a joke) America in 1492.

How about your own personal land in Twin Falls, Idaho ?  If an army of mercenaries invaded it, and took possession... does that mean they "own" it ?  And if so, are you then deemed an illegal alien ?

If you managed to read all of this so far... take a minute to "cool off"... and then try and come up with an honest and fair answer, rather than an emotionally political one.  I would love to hear it.

Posted by Karen Anne Stone, Fort Worth Real Estate (New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County) about 8 years ago

I can probably trace my ancestry back to Spain by way of Mexico, to the Philippines.  By that logic, I can lay claim to some parts of Spain, Mexico, or parts of what is known as California.  Had I known that, I needn't have to be naturalized.  Somebody pay up.

Karen-

I am 100% Comanche. My mom remarried when I was young, thus the last name. People who know me on AR understand my heritage.   So while I cool off you can leave my land. By your own logic you do not belong here. So leave. Quit talking about it. Take your Mexican friends with you.

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer about 8 years ago

Wait Kevin, don't you mean 'back to Spain?'  The indigenous peoples of Mexico were just as victimized during colonization as those north of the Rio Grande.

Posted by Karl Hess, on The Jersey Shore (Keller Williams Shore Properties) about 8 years ago

OK. People were victimized. But not by you or me. Someone in my lineage was screwed but once again, it was not me. It is over. Now our country is made up of laws and borders. Do we respect those laws and borders, or do we trample them?

Like I asked above, should the Mexicans who come here, be allowed to break the law? Should they be rewarded for it?

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer about 8 years ago

Kevin, LMAO at this thread!  Somebody needs to take their meds!  It has been said that progressives have not matured in their thinking.  Everything to them must be "fair".  What a joke.  Life is not fair and will never be fair.  Of course, the delusional progressives live in lala land and believe they can create a totally fair world.  *roll eyes*

Illegals ARE being rewarded, which is why they keep coming.  They are the cause of MANY HOSPITALS closing their doors in ruin...leaving enitre towns without local healthcare.  They invade our schools and steal so much of the resources that our own LEGAL CHILDREN can't get a decent education!  This is beyond the pale.  I dare libs to check the grades of schools that have high % of illegal students.  They are always FAILING.  Not because we have not thrown tons of tax money at them...but because the LOSER PARENTS refuse to even learn English.

Illegals TAKE BILLIONS MORE THAN THEY PAY INTO THE SYSTEM.  This is all over government websites and in their statistics.  Of course you always get a lib quoting what little they do pay.  MOST illegals work under the table.  They've ruined the building industry for LEGAL CITIZENS.  They've ruined the restuarant service jobs, and so many more.  *IF* they are needed for any job, let them come here LEGALLY and work above board.  That never seems to be an option with the libs.

Open borders is the same as Octomom.  Just keep having babies, let someone else worry about feeding and providing for them.

A RESPONSIBLE person would say, CITIZENS DESERVE to keep what they earn and not be burdened with providing for whoever broke our laws and crashed the gates.

Isn't it tiring to hear about certain groups being "victimized"?  Who gives a sh*t?  There isn't any way to fix past wrongs.  Additionally, every group has been treated poorly at some point in history.  Get over it.  Worry about TODAY!!

Our own citizens are getting VICTIMIZED BY ILLEGALS!   Funny how these progressives never seem to notice or care about our own citizens!  Sickening.

What type of mind goes down the path of thousands of years and actually comes to the conclusion that the land doesn't belong to those who are now on it...paying for it...working it...taking care of it???

I've heard saner things from the mentally ill.

If you are talking about my post Karen, you are being delusional again.  It'll be ok.  Just go shove some more food into those jowls.  ;)

Karen- If you are referring to Bill Burress, you should look around a bit. He is here on occasion, but he posts under the name Bill Burress. Wierd huh?

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer about 8 years ago

Karen- OK back to the debate at hand.

Should a trespasser be rewarded?

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer about 8 years ago

Kevin,if Georgia is not Bill Burress... whose name I did not want to fully mention, but you did, so it must be ok... then there must have been some sort of Vulcan Mind Meld that took place, because Georgia's extreme-right politics and the pompous, know-it-all attitude are quite similar, if not the same.

Now... should a trespasser be rewarded ?  Absolutely NOT.  I think all of us American trespassers who currently live in southern and central Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California... who are living in what should, in all honesty, be referred to as Mexican soil... I believe we all should be required to either move, or apply for either Mexican citizenship... or have dual-citizenship.

Or... perhaps a less-complicated solution for those areas I mentioned might be to allow proof of EITHER country's citizenship as what would be required to live in those areas.

And the others who are living on former Indian lands that were stolen... taken by force, like that of the Comanche... (although I do not know the specific history, here)... we should all be applying to your tribal leaders for at least their version of a green card, or perhaps be acquiring some sort of actual citizenship.

And if not... then I think that a major portion of the land taken from them should be "given" back to them as reparations.

Kevin re: #21:  So then, by your logic, if My father stole YOUR father's car, and then he gave it to me... it is MINE... because then was then, and now is now.  How much sense does this make ?  None.

Posted by Karen Anne Stone, Fort Worth Real Estate (New Home Hunters of Fort Worth and Tarrant County) about 8 years ago

Kevin, It's hopeless.  You are dealing with a very delusional person who clearly doesn't have the ability to reason.  The posts are fun to read though!  By her "logic", and i use that term loosely, the United States would not belong to the United States...so therefore there wouldn't be a United States. Gee I wonder in her make-believe world what happens to all the buildings, infrastructure, and businesses?  Do the owners just lose those too?  Were those created by the mexicans in her mind?  Did they sneek in, much like the little elves in "The Elves and the Shoemaker" and build it all in the middle of the night?  Was it really their ideas, blood sweat and money that went into all the wonderful creations in America?

Karen, get yourself to a physchologist pronto.  You are going, if not already, insane and have lost the ability to reason.  There are meds that can help you.  Seriously hon, you are a danger to yourself...and perhaps others.  Ask a friend, or if you don't have one, a neighbor for help.

"Miss" Georgia... the word is spelled  P s y c h o l o g i s t.  That little button on the upper right... the one with the ABC and then the"check" mark.  Ummmm... that means "spell check."

And yes.  If they were fools enough to build that stuff on someone else's land... how nice of them.  And speaking of fools... you have a nice day, now... ya hear ?
