Blah, blah, blah

A swing and a miss

I agree with John McCain on this one. He said that he appreciates the additional 1200 troops and the $500 million, but that it is not enough. Hey Pres, thanks for the effort, but can we ratchet it up a few notches?

Anyone who has really been to one of the states that border Mexico, and who has done some driving in a border town, knows that the US citizens who live there are sick of the crime that is committed by Mexicans coming over the border. The amount of guns and drugs confiscated every day at our border continues to grow according to the Border Patrol. Even Senator Dianne Feinstein has recognized that fact.

Right now there is word that 10 more states are ready to take action, much like Arizona did, with bills  that will be a virtual copy the AZ law. Polls show that a majority of Americans are in favor of tougher immigration laws. US Senate Republicans were in the process of forcing a vote on sending US troops to the border.  The people want action.

Our President, knowing that his poll numbers suck, and that an overwhelming number of Americans want him to take action, threw us a small bone. A very small bone.

Like all of his actions, is this one designed to fail, so that he can introduce some socialist/new world order type fix to us? I really hope not.

I agree. Also, we don't know how many terrorists could come through, knowing how easy it is to cross over.

If it's like everything else the Chicago thug regime does, it will be "used to make changes we couldn't otherwise make". Too bad these guys are so transparent, they can no longer fool most people.

I wondered why McCain didn't just call it what it is: a BABY step.

He did a little something, just so he can later go on TV and say what a massive effort he has made to help the Southern states.

It only makes common sense to enforce our borders and the laws we have on the books already. Every other country enforces their border.  If the Mexicans really think we are a bunch of racists for wanting to enforce our immigration laws, they can always try sneaking south into Central America and leave our country alone.
