Addition time

Right now just may be the best time in recent history to add onto your house. As we continue falling into this recession, the price of material also keeps falling. Some are at the lowest that I have seen them in years. Many skilled trades people are out of work, or low on work, so they are willing to lower their prices just to have work to do. Winter is traditionally a very slow time in construction, and this year will be no different. If you have thought of adding on to your home, now is the time.

I get bombarded with all types of construction magazines and newsletters. I also write for a few of them. What I have been reading and hearing from many in the industry is that we are quickly heading towards a huge price increase, especially in materials. I have been doing a bit of research and have found that a large percentage of economists are predicting an inflationary trend starting next spring or summer.

Call me and lets discuss how you can add onto your home for a lot less.

Hi Kevin,

Many families in Austin are adding on or making significant upgrades to their homes rather than selling. The good builders specializing in additions and remodeling are busy as well as deck and fence people. They do have competition with those throwing their hat in the ring so there is a wide variety in pricing. Those looking to get it done at the best price and sacrificing quality can get it accomplished!

It's also a great time to buy.  Historically low rates and prices that have become more affordable make it a great time to buy.

I wish I could find a good general contractor interested in remodels in my area. I get that question a lot from buyers. You are right, now is a fabulous time to be remodeling or building.
