180 days of experience is paying off

Wednesday! The whole thing started on that day. A group of lowlife criminals, known as pirates to some of us, boarded the Maersk Alabama and subsequently took it's captain hostage. It is now Saturday night and the lowlife scumbags (not freedom fighters) still hold the captain hostage.

The most incredible of part of the whole episode is that President Obama has still not commented. The leader of the most powerful country on Earth, the number one country on Earth, the country who bows to no one, is in hiding. Why?

180 some odd days as a Senator and before that a few years as a community organizer. Quite the resume. Not exactly the leadership experience that this situation requires. "So Mr. President, what should we do?" "Uh, can I abstain from making a decision?" The old non decision maker strikes again.

A whole bunch of Americans voted for the guy. Hope and change. How would you like to be the captain's family right now. Yep. They certainly are getting lots of hope and change. Stand up comedians will have a field day with our leaders unquestionable bravery. The problem is that the joke is on us.

When will our esteemed leader make a public announcement? Will he make one? No. Is he scared? I think so.

I wrote a blog about us nuking the "pirates". Some of our lib friends freaked out. To them punishing a criminal is cruel and unusual. These gang banger pirates are part of a group that has taken hostage over 200 seamen. 200. What is the damn holdup. We know where they are holding them. Lets take action. Real action.

It is time to do a few things. Send in our military to save the hostages and then blow the ghetto boys to little pieces of what they are made of. And then lets do what is necessary. In 2010 elect real leaders to overrule this under experienced fool.

Bows to no one..Hmm. I think I did see that a time or two. Where is our fearless leader? Is he figuring out what to do or asking anyone who will listen ( Nancy P. You know who you are) What to do. I want John Wayne. He could fix this and I know he would not be hiding & hoping for an answer. He would have one and if it did not go as he hoped he would try another avenue. He was resourceful, intellegent, and unafraid to face the truth. Now I know that may not always be the reality here...But why not!-Dinah Lee

My husband's idea was to send a "cargo" ship with a crew of our military guys and let them ... come on, on board.

It feels like the embassy and the USS Cole all over again. Could this be the test Biden was talking about?  I think it's just the begining.  And I am praying for his family.

Dinah Lee- John Wayne would certainly take care of the situation.

Tammy- We are also praying for his safety and his family. I like your husbands idea.

Thanks for the comments.

Kevin- This is so sickening to me that we have become such wooses ( how do you spell that word?). How much and what kind of crap do we take? I feel so bad for the family. But then again, Iran is holding US citizens as prisoners and so is good ol' North Korea- and Hillary asks them politely to let our people go for humanitarian sake. Excuse me, but inhumane leaders becoming humane and turning over our people? Please! There's no bite when we talk anymore. Katerina

I am with you all. Lets take our men back and take names if there are any left to take. Enough is enough. What are we waiting for...Permission?-Dinah Lee

Katerina- Wooses, wosses. I don't know how to spell that but we both know what it means. I am afraid that we will take lots of crap because the whole world knows that our leader is a woose.

Dinah Lee-I do not get what we are waiting for. Can you imagine being the captain's family members?

I can. It greives me to see what is transpiring. We can see where it is all headed. Can the leader of the free world?-Dinah Lee

This is humilitating!!  I sure in the heck hope we don't pay them off and then allow them to get to land.  If they are caught in International waters then it is my understanding they can be tried.  I'm with you what are we waiting for?  I somehow don't think this would be happening if George Bush was still our President.  He would have at least spoke up and let them know that we don't negotiate with terrorist.  Oh wait terrorist is not a word that can be used any longer.

Marchel- Now we must call them 'people who have had bad childhhoods". I think were supposed to offer them a hug as well.

Kevin, do you think Obama should act and talk like Bush did about Bin Laden by saying that we were going to "smoke him out"?  He never succeeded. Instead, Bush did the old bait and switch by baiting Americans with Bin Laden and switching to Hussein.  A president running his mouth like Bush did not work well for our country.  So, why not give a president who thinks and makes informed decisions a chance?

Kevin - While I'm aware you like to push the buttons to illicit reactionary responses like Terry's above, I do wonder why you don't think we have balls when our immediate response isn't to blow somebody up or attack, attack, attack.  Hell man, I'd love to go mideival on certain entities for certain actions every now and again, yet I think we have to pick and chose our moments.

Click here, but you've probably already heard.

I know what you may be thinking, that's MSNBC and they're a bunch of liberal folks... so here.

For purposes of public record, I don't like MSNBC or FOX.  I think they are equally partisan.

Hey, I don't want to change your wave of thinking.  Frankly, we need your type of dissent to grow as a culture and country.   In many cases, you have the better idea and/or ideology.  But give Obama props when they are deserved, that's all I ask.  You don't have to like him, nor even respect him... but I believe that you do a dis-service to anybody reading when you continue to post agenda based rhetoric that coincides with ideals that may or may not be factual.  In fact, ideals are rarely factual.  I'd appreciate it more if folks on either side were truly fair and balanced.  They aren't.  The thing is that libs and conserv's (extremists, just too far in any direction) have shown relatively nothing short of agenda seeking complaints and gripes and very few solutions along the way.

Secretly, I think you want to teabag Obama:)

I wrote before Obama won this gig that he'd be the most scrutinized President in History.  I still believe that.  He should be, anybody in his position should be.  And if I get a picture of Kevin Robinson teabagging Obama, I'll sell it to the highest bidder.  Why?  Because I believe in Capitalism as well.

Kevin, are you upset that the captain was rescued?  It really hurts your argument.

Posted by Jay Allen, MovieVoice (MovieVoice Production Co.) about 10 years ago

Jay , I am extremely happy the captain was rescued but I don't think it hurts Kevins argument at all. We have the finest navy in the world. They should have been given the go ahead immediately insted of allowing us to become a laughingstock while even France acted quickly.

Posted by Hugh Krone, Realtor, Sussex County NJ (Weichert Referral Associates) about 10 years ago

Hugh, who said we were a laughingstock?

Posted by Jay Allen, MovieVoice (MovieVoice Production Co.) about 10 years ago

Hell yeah! I think that we have the best Navy in the world. Kickin butt and taking names. Hopefully thay can kill a few more of the ghetto pirates.

Jay- My argument is that PO did not come public with any type of comment. I never say anything bad about our military. Everyone in the world knows they are the best.

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer about 10 years ago

Kevin, no one would argue about our military.  However, the point was about how Obama handled this situation.  So, do you think Obama should act and talk like Bush did about Bin Laden by saying that we were going to "smoke him out"?  He never succeeded. Instead, Bush did the old bait and switch by baiting Americans with Bin Laden and switching to Hussein.

Posted by Jay Allen, MovieVoice (MovieVoice Production Co.) about 10 years ago

Though his response was delayed and kind of floundering I am glad to see that the President was able to authorize our military into action and get these nasty pirates.

Rob- I agree with you.

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer about 10 years ago

Oh Kevin, you totally wish we didn't want to punish criminals.  If we did, you wouldn't have anything to complain about.  But now that the issue is moot, and now that we all know Obama was diligently working toward the release of the captain, kinda makes your rant look a little silly doesn't it?

Posted by Terry Haugen STAGE it RIGHT! 321-956-2495 (Stage it Right!) about 10 years ago

RETRACTION PLEASE!

Our president did exactly what he should have done, PERIOD.  How many pirates did our cowboy president take out?  The Navy seals acted with bravery and skill under orders from the president with his authority to use whatever force is needed to defend the safety of American citizens abroad.

Rob - floundering and delayed?  You mean like a dear in the headlights on the morning of 9/11?

I'm just sayin...
