Blah, blah, blah

Running scared

4th and long.  When the chips are down.  An uphill climb.  Come from behind.  In a circumstance like these, we need a strong team captain. A captain who can make decisions and take action on those decisions. Decisions that will certainly piss off some folks but definitely win it for the home team.

This whole pirate thing has me wondering. Our President won't comment on the issue. What a brave man he is. "Hey you stupid reporters who spoon fed me during the campaign, do not ask me questions like that when I am supposed to be talking about mortgages. I know all of my lib supporters will say that I am entitled to not answer the question but that is only because they are hoping that the mean old military, who neither I nor my pacifist supporters, can stand behind, will hurry up and end the situation before I have to answer any questions."

Desert One. Hostages. Peanut Man himself. Failed rescue operation. Actually another brave President named Jimmy called off the rescue at the last minute. "Can't we just send a missile?" "Yes Mr. President, but we may hit an aspirin factory instead of the bad guys".

Gotta love Democrat Presidents. Brave is not what they do best when faced with hard decisions.  Scared is more like it for them.

Bush was not afraid to make decisions unlike the last three democrat presidents!

Good Lord,

What a bunch of drivel this is; I almost didn't respond it's so stupid;

but hey, you've got your opinion and I've got mine.

More drivel. Thank you Terry!

Kevin: So, your hero Bush sat there holding "My Pet Goat" upsidedown whil people were jumping 100 stories to their deaths. There's your effing COWARD.

During the campaign, VP Joe Biden promised us that Obama would be tested during the early weeks of his presidency and he would show strength.  Looks like between the pirates and North Korea, Obama is proving to be just as inexperienced and weak and many of us were telling everybody he was.

Scott, It is 24 hours later now still no word from the ONE. G W may have spent 5 extra minute with the children but he knew there was at least that much time for the secret service to mobilize and he didn't have to put anyone into panic yet or disappoint a classroom of children.

Come on Mr. President. Time to man up.

He is afraid the Pirates will summon The Kraken from Davey Jones Locker.

Hugh - I was disgusted with Scott's comment.  Trying to compare one man's 5 or so minute time to collect his thoughts to another man's hours of no comment and prioritizing discussions on the housing market first is ridiculous.  For crying out loud, didn't John Kerry say he and his colleagues sat stunned and didn't know what to do for upwards of an hour on 9/11?  Frankly, I don't know how I would react if I were in charge when such events happened so I don't know what an appropriate time for response is.  No matter who you are, what your background is, the longer it takes the less you look like a leader in such situations.  Not everyone is cut out to be a leader.

If anyone finds an extra set of b_ _ _ s hanging around will you please send them to the white house, someone seems to be missing their own.

Stephanie,

When your hero is Obama it is much easier to find fault with Bush than to cite anything positive about Obama

We need to hang every we pirate we catch and let the buzzards eat them. They are no different from terrorists.

Posted by Israel Barden (RE/MAX Big Bear Village) over 10 years ago

Israel: These "pirates" are indeed terrorists. I believe it is wise for the prseident not to interjst himself publicly into this situation, as it may embolded other pirates to do the same. I am sure Obama is dealing with this behind the scenes. Just my take on the situation.

Stephanie: John Kerry isn't relevent to any comparison with Bush. Glad you were "disgusted" by my comment.

I wrote this blog last night-Thursday. Here it is Friday night and there is no change in the sitch and no word from our President.

Hugh might be on to something. Is there an extra set laying around?

Posted by Kevin Robinson, Fractional Developer over 10 years ago

Kevin: There may be an extra set, but they are too busy teabagging.

Looks like all ended well..unlike the French situation. Patience works wonders sometimes.

Our Navy kicks rear end again. Too bad they can't kill the other idiot ghetto pirates. Hopefully our President will fianlly make a public comment.

In the end, President Obama did the right thing. The pirates are dead and the hostage is free. Of course, when this escalates, the peanut gallery is going to start squawking about how he shouldn't have killed the pirates and he made things worse. There is no way the President will ever be able to do anything right in some people's eye's.

Guess your bubble burst Kevin when you found out Obama was doing something while you were writing this.  Just because he doesn't send you a personal message to let you know his day to day activities does not mean he's not working on a particular issue.  In this case his silence was golden and fooled even you.
