April 15th. I love that day. Why? It is the day that I get to pay for all of the hard work that I have put in all year. Even though I have been paying the government all year, I get to pay them some more. And why not?
I know that my government can spend my money a lot better than I can. I would probably do something foolish with it anyways. I guess I might invest it or put some away for my son's college. I may take a trip of buy a car. Crazy ways to spend my money. Now the government, they know how to do it right. They will hire somebody off welfare and pay them to sit in an office and play solitaire all day. Or they might need to get some new gym equipment for the congressional gym. Or how about I pay for some senator to have a big lavish party for their donors. Or, on a local scale, pay a crowd of laborers to hold up shovels alongside the highway. Yes, the government is a whole lot wiser than I when it comes to my money.
I am actually surprised that they let me keep any of my money during the year. What with the insane ways that I might use it. It might make more sense for them to take all of my money and then just give it back to me in small rations, as they see fit. It would probably be better for the country as a whole.
They could take my money and give it to someone else. Yeah, that would work. Take say $30,000 from me over the course of a year, and give it to someone who needs it. It would be great. I could work so someone else could rest. If the government took enough money from a couple of taxpayers, the recipient could even live better. Or even take a few more bucks from each of us. I guess that I could give more than $30,000 this year. After all, I don't really need all of the money that I worked for. I could probably just work to work.
Now if the government and politicians can figure out how to tax only rich people and then give the money to everyone else, we will all be better off. Shoot, take like 20 billion dollars from Bill Gates and divvy it up among the rest of us. 20 billion divided by 200 million people is $100 each. They better tax more rich people. The same rule would apply to Bill Gates, he could just work to work. Like me it would be hard to get used to the concept of simply working to work, but Bill and I could adapt.
If this thing works out like I think it will, the politicians will have it made. There are less rich people than poor people in this country. That means the non-rich have more voting power than the rich do. As long as the politicians keep taking money from a small group and give it to a large group, the powerful voting block (large group) will keep voting for the politicians. And why would'nt they?
I like this idea. I will send the government my check on April 15th, and then I am sure they will start sending me monthly checks for the rest of the year. How many of you are going to pay for me? Thank you in advance.
