Dear Obama,
I have written this letter before, but I have never received a response, so I am writing it again. I am 46 years old and have been paying into social security for over 30 years now. Every year, I get my official statement from the government informing me of how much I will get when I "retire" at age 62, 67, or 70. I have a degree in math, but I do not really need one to calculate how much of a return I am getting on my money. For everything that I have put into the system, I am sure not getting much out.
The more that I look at how much I have put into the plan, and figure out what I will get out, the madder I get. Anyone who actually thinks that social security is a good idea is either not paying attention or fairly unschooled. The numbers come closer to reflecting thievery on close analysis.
I repsectfully ask to be let out out of the system. You can keep all that I have put in over the last 30 years. If you will stop taking my money, I will be more than happy to never ask for any money out of the social security system.
Sincerely,
Kevin
